Birds and Birthdays

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

I'll hopefully have quite a few pictures and stories after this weekend, so I wanted to sort of catch up this morning.

On May 3 we had a 100th Birthday Party for Mama! It was absolutely beautiful, and lots of people came to it. I didn't get many pictures, but it was at our church in the fellowship hall. There was a lovely chocolate fountain with fruit, chicken salad, vegetables, and a cake. Here are some pictures.

Like I said, I didn't get many.

Last weekend on the 17th we had a birthday party for David. He turned 30!! Happy belated birthday sweetie!

We discovered on the night of the party that we have a bird nest in the wreath on our front door. Take a look at the current residents of our front porch!

It seems I'm surrounded by baby birds everywhere these days. I work in a large office park that's right on the Cumberland River. There are canals and fountains all through the complex which means there's a high population of waterfowl. There is currently a family of Canada Geese with about 4 goslings. They are so sweet waddling around and everyone is sure to keep an eye out for them on the roads. I even saw one lady feeding them the other day!

Good to hear from you again! We made it to those events - so glad your family hosted them. It's amazing that Sis. Dugan is 100 - I know you guys will be glad you made a big deal of it. I wish you could have posted a picture of her and the family. She is a treasure. We also enjoyed the visit at your home for David's birthday. Thanks again for the invite.
