Ta da!!!

I got a digital camera on Friday. I'm so excited! It's going to take a bit of time for me to figure out the easiest way to format and post my pictures, but I'm learning.

Here are the curtains in my master bedroom. They're not very fancy, but I love them! I also included a close-up pic of the tiebacks.

That's all I've got time for right now. I'll be back later with pics and stuff about this past weekend.

Trash Day

Am I totally disturbed that I get excited about Trash Day?

I actually enjoy emptying all the trash cans on Monday night and taking trash out to the garbage can in the garage. There's usually one or two big pieces of trash like boxes or something that I've left sitting around waiting for Monday night, and I finally get to take them out. I seriously think I might be deranged. I just love the fact that I leave for work on Tuesday morning with a garbage can full of stinky trash sitting at the end of my driveway and when I get home it's empty. It still stinks, but it's empty...no more trash! It's so refreshing.

So, I just want to say thank you to the City of Murfreesboro Solid Waste Department Employee who empties my trash can every Tuesday morning (or Wednesday in case of a holiday on Monday). You have no idea what you mean to me!

Monday, whew!

Do you ever look forward to Monday, so you can have a break? I got a lot accomplished this weekend, so it's kind of nice to just get back to the normalcy of work.

Since Saturday was so beautiful we worked on the yard...well, I say we when I actually mean David. He put down fresh mulch in our flowerbed and around the irises by the mailbox. It's that really black mulch and looks so good. Now, if only my azaleas would recover from the frost and bloom again. He bought a maple tree from some guys cruising around the neighborhood with a trailer full of trees. They planted it and put mulch around it and everything. It's beautiful. Then, I got some big, beautiful ferns from Martin's to hang on my porch. My house looks so cute, I just have to say!

I also got the drapes hung in my bedroom, so my room now looks like it belongs to an adult couple...not a pair of shacked-up college kids. Oh, and my mom brought me a tablecloth she found on sale. It's blue, yellow, pink, and green and has this cool 30s, 40s look to it, especially when I use my Fiesta dishes on it.

I ate lunch at P.F. Chang's on Saturday, which was a treat! It was really nice to visit with Jennifer and Mila, with whom I used to work, and see Jennifer's little boy...he's an absolute doll!

That's pretty much my weekend in a nutshell! I hope everyone has a good week, and I'm sure I'll post some more throughout the week!

It's a boy!!

My sister found out this morning that her baby (due in September) is a boy! Let the shopping begin!

Pink Mary Janes

Okay, so today I'm wearing pink mary janes. All the cuteness in the world wrapped up in a pair of shoes! I want to wear them every day because they make me feel so good!

Last night my friend had a Pampered Chef party at her house. Now, I've been to quite a few of these, and the food is always great. But last night the food was the best I've ever had at one! We had a Jerk Chicken Salad...I can't wait to try to make it. It was delicious...so fresh and summery tasting. I ordered some new oven mitts and a really cool citrus press that I can use when I make the dressing for the salad. The dressing has fresh lime juice and zest in it.

Last night hubby got me one step closer to putting up my new curtains in our bedroom. Now I just have to put the drapes on the curtain rods and get the rods put up in their little brackets. He's done all the difficult hardware stuff.

Shoe lovers??

For all my fellow shoe lovers...how cute are these flats? Little pricey...but absolutely adorable!

I hope everyone's Tuesday is going well. I'm excited about American Idol tonight. Martina McBride is the special guest, so that must mean it's country music night. I'll be taping it and watching it later. I've got a Pampered Chef party to go to tonight. New products for spring! I can't wait to see 'em.

I picked up pictures at Walgreen's last night. I might try to scan some and get them posted in the next day or two. We'll see!

Sadness in Virginia

Wow. Every time I go back to check the news the death count is higher! Click here for the story.

The diving board

“Monday was the diving board poised over the rest of the week. One walked out on the board, reviewed the situation, planned one’s strategy, bounced a few times to get the feel of things, and then made a clean dive. Without Monday, one simply bombed into the water, belly first, and hoped for the best.”

Happy Monday to everyone! I hope everyone's weekend was nice. Mine was very quiet as hubby worked on Saturday and Sunday, but I got lots of stuff done and got lots of rest! We also had a fantastic meal at Bonefish Grille on Sunday night. I LOVE their Bang-Bang shrimp. So delish!

One of my errands was the fabric store on Saturday with two of my BFFs. We're taking a sewing class at church, and we bought fabric, patterns, and notions (and some of us learned what notions were...ahem). And wow...sewing scissors! $30...really?!

And, finally, after living in my house for almost three years, I got window treatments for my Master Bedroom. Granted, they're not up yet, but I got all the stuff at Target on Saturday. It's going to look so good. When they're up I'll get a picture posted.

Also, I dropped off three rolls of film to be developed. I'm so lazy about getting pictures developed. That's why we're looking at getting a digital camera. I think there are pictures on one of these rolls of my niece's birthday party last October...early October! However, it will be like a surprise when I go pick them up tonight to see what the pictures are of! I'll probably post some from Easter on here.

Hope everyone has a good week! Hopefully I'll post some more before the week's out!

Just playing around...

This is my first official blog post. For those of you who are not familiar with the blog format, it's basically an online diary for everyone who might be interested in my observations of life.

It might be boring or uninteresting, but it's just something I'm playing around with.
